Lead Based Paint
If your home was built prior to 1978, there is a significant chance
that it may contain Lead based Paint. Pre- 1950 homes may also have lead plumbing that can infect your water supply. Lead is a highly toxic metal which when ingested even in trace
amounts may cause serious health effects such as learning and behavior deficiencies, psychological problems and even death. It is
primarily a problem for young children who are still growing, and are more likely to ingest lead from dust or paint
chips.
